CAR Participates in Monroe Community College High Tech Career Exploration Night
CAR once again had a booth at the annual Monroe Community College (MCC) High Tech Career Exploration Night. This amazing event is hosted by the college for high school students and their parents. The goal of the night is to “learn more about in-demand, high-tech careers in engineering and technology, computers, optics and photonics, and manufacturing. You’ll have the opportunity to explore MCC’s innovative engineering and technology programs, and tour MCC’s labs and facilities. “
The event was attended by over 400 people. Many companies in the Rochester area (including CAR) set up booths to display their products and educate those stopping by on what types of jobs are available at their companies. The booth was manned by Todd Guarino, Tool Room Supervisor at CAR and MCC alumni as well as Yvette Pagano, CEO. It was great to see such a strong interest from the community in middle skill, high tech careers. We are grateful that a resource such as MCC exists in Rochester to help fill the skilled worker pipeline.

So How Is Charlie Doing?
Many of you have been asking about Charlie and what he is up to. Charlie has spent the winter in Naples, Florida with his wife Michelle and dog Sage. He has been enjoying golf, walks on the beach, and connecting with friends in the area. The couple is scheduled to be back in Rochester in April and are looking forward to the building of their new condo on the canal in Fairport. They have enjoyed their time in Florida but are anxious to get back to their 7 grand kids who all reside in Rochester. They are also excited to become grandparents for the eighth time as their youngest daughter Arlette is expecting her first baby in May. However, this grand-baby will not be local, Arlette and her husband reside in Truckee, CA. They have already booked their plane tickets and will be there in May, more fun times and travel await the couple!
File Complete For Certified Woman Owned Small Business
Now that the ownership change is official CAR Engineering has applied to become a certified woman owned small business. This was quite an extensive process. Yvette received notice that the file is complete and is now under review. The official certification is expected no later than June 1st 2016, after which CAR will become a certified woman owned machine shop. Once it is official customers will receive a written communication directly from CAR. Stand by.
Congratulations to Mrs. Jenna Hildebrandt
CAR sends its warmest congratulations to administrative assistant Jenna Hildebrandt on her recent marriage! Jenna wed her boyfriend of 5 years Scott on Jan. 16th, 2016. Jenna’s maiden name was Schmitt and she has since taken her new husband’s last name. The wedding was held at St. Joseph’s church in Penfield, NY. The bride had both her sisters- Valerie and Lori serve as her maids of honor. Scott’s best man was longtime friend Steve Wooden. The reception was held at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Rochester. It was a great party with lots of food, drink and dancing. The couple honeymooned in Aruba and got an unexpected extension to their vacation when a massive snow storm hit the northeast and delayed their return by several days. The CAR Engineering Crew enjoyed celebrating with the gorgeous bride. Best wishes for a long and successful marriage Jenna and Scott!
