Buy Out Successful- CAR Passes From First Generation to Second

Hello loyal newsletter readers and happy holidays.

Dec. 18th, 2015 was a big day for the company. That was the day that Charlie Rogers (CEO/Owner) sold his business to his daughter Yvette Pagano and Brian Rumsey. Yvette is now the CEO and a 90% majority owner. Brian Rumsey is now President and a 10% minority owner. This ownership transition allows CAR to apply for the Certified Woman Owned Business designation and Yvette is already moving forward with the paperwork. The succession plan and transition were in place for many years but the “devil is in the details” and bringing the deal to final close was a great achievement for all involved.

Please see the note below written by Charlie…

Dear Friends,

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve sold CAR Engineering to my daughter Yvette Pagano and Brian Rumsey, I am retired effective immediately.

Building a business is a privilege and almost impossible to do without the support of friends, good employees and the entire business community. I am so proud of the CAR Engineering employees, an extremely capable group of talented solid citizens. I’ve never thought for a minute I could be successful without them and I consider them all friends.

I’m going to Florida for 3 months, I’ll be back in the spring. There will be a celebration of CAR’s 30th anniversary next spring/summer and I will be there to see you.

Thanks again & Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Charlie at his last employee meeting surrounded by his 10+ year employees

Charlie’s last few weeks were emotional ones, but as always he was a class act. He gave a speech at his last employee meeting, thanking all those who helped him build his business. At the end of the meeting he called up every employee that had been with the company 10 years or longer for a special tribute. He passed out the Christmas cards and gifts his last day with some tearful good-byes and hugs. He cleaned out his office and spent his first official day of retirement (Dec. 21st) taking 2 of his granddaughters to their Wiggles, Jiggles, and Giggles class- go Papa!

CAR Passes ISO 9001: 2008 and TS 16949 Audits

CAR is pleased to announce that we have passed our re-certification audit and are once again certified to the ISO and TS standard. The most recent copy of our certificate can be downloaded from our website. As usual the auditor was “tough but fair” and the CAR team performed well. CAR is pleased to report that we cut our minor non-conformances in half from previous year and there were no major findings. CAR would like to recognize ISO administrators- Carrie Hause (Scheduling) and John Jackson (QC Engineer).  We are a small company we do not have a sole person simply dedicated to ISO/TS. Carrie and John take on ISO administration, internal auditing, and training in addition to their regular job responsibilities. CAR is proud of its mature and proven quality systems and the competent team we have sustaining it.
