TS 16949 Stamping – ISO/TS 16949:2009 Certification

UPDATE: CAR is now a certified IATF stamper, one of the very first companies to achieve this feat in 2018, after the TS 16949 standard was phased out making way for the more improved IATF 16949 standard.

TS 16949 Stamping – ISO/TS 16949, in conjunction with our ISO 9001 Certification defines the quality management system requirements for the design, development, and production of automotive related productions and it can be applied throughout the automotive supply chain. CAR Engineering made the decision to try for this certification in Nov. 2014 and became ISO/TS Certified.

CAR Engineering has been servicing the automotive sector since we first opened our doors in 1986. However as the mix of automotive clients increased, especially the automotive stampings opportunities, CAR was encouraged by its automotive clients to get TS 16949 certified. CAR passed the entire audit and was issued its certificate in Jan. 2015.

Although only about 10% of CAR Engineering’s business is directly related to automotive, the TS 16949 certification provides benefits for all our customers. The requirements for this certification are more stringent than ISO 9001 and as a result of achieving this enhanced certification CAR has more robust Quality Management System than ever before. We are particularly proud of the improvements in our training, preventative maintenance programs, and feasibility study areas of our management system.
